THE JEWISH SPORTS AT TIMES OF WAR | EXHIBITION

15 אוקטובר, 2024 - 15 מרס, 2025

On October 7, local sports, like all sectors of Israeli society, were severely affected during the initial hours of the Hamas attacks.

Tragically, young athletes, former athletes, amateurs, and professionals lost their lives. Yet, amidst the tragedy, Israeli sports achieved remarkable success in the Diaspora.

Is this a mere coincidence, or does sports hold a special significance in the resilience of our people, as it has for over a century?

The Jewish Sports Museum invites you to experience a profound and unique exhibition that unveils, for the first time, the story of sports as a testament to the indomitable human spirit in the wake of the October 7 attack and the ensuing war.
The exhibition is divided into three sections, featuring authentic exhibits and items that tell a story everyone must know: the first day of the attack, the return to sports activities in Israel and globally, and the response of Israel and the world to the conflict through the lens of sport.

The rolling ball, the gymnasium, the swimming pool, and the packed stands reflect a complex blend of pain and sorrow intertwined with hope, recovery, and triumph.

We invite you to embark on a journey that culminates in hope - where sports become a source of resilience and inspiration, even in our nation’s darkest times.

The exhibition is taking place at Kfar Maccabiah, Ramat Gan.

To visit the exhibition, a museum ticket must be purchased.
